3rd Forum of African Parlaimentarians for Education cancelled

The 3rd Forum of African Parliamentarians for Education ( FAPEDIII) was cancelled. This was announced by , Eric Falt,  UNESCOs Assistant Director-General for Externational Relations and Public Information.

According to a letter sent to the invitees, the official concerned has said the main reason for such cancellations is due to  UNESCOs current financial problems.

In the course of its efforts for the achievement of Education for All (EFA) goals, UNESCO has called on parliaments to play their central role in this respect.

In this context, four regional parliamentary forums have been established to pursue the six EFA goals within the parliamentary perspectives. FASPPED, FAPED,FARPED and FLACPED are the four regional parliamentary forums representing respectively for Asia-Pacific, Africa, Arab and Latin American countries.
